1. The rep tie

I thrifted this “Rep tie” a while ago, but for some reason never really wore it. I think it’s because it was buried under a pile of ties in my closet. It can be hard sometimes to pick the right tie for an outfit, especially when there’s over 2 dozen of them. For this outfit however I started with the tie, which made it easier in this instance because i had my statement piece. I chose to wear a white shirt and a light grey blazer for a great contrast, allowing that nice and crisp pop of green. I decided to wear a pair of green pants to match the tie. I’m not a big fan of matching everything because It gets boring after a while. I like to keep it intriguing, and I thought what better color than a lavender (check out my post on “how to wear lavender” ) pocket square to add a little bit of ambiguity. I completed the look with my favorite shoes, (you guys know them by now lol) and a navy pair of Gallant&beau socks.

  2. Wings without feathers

Ever since I was a little kid I have been fascinated with the concept of flying. I couldn’t understand how something so big could fly as high and as freely as a bird… I can vividly remember getting on a plane for the first time at 14. It was love at first flight! It’s difficult to explain whether the feeling was of greatness or smallness. In a way, I looked at the world through the eyes of an outsider. Flying allows my thoughts to drift beyond the horizon as I see things from a broader perspective. I remember when it was time for me to go to college, I told my mother that I wanted to join the military Airforce, wanting to take my love for flight to the next level. But being her oldest and having to watch over my younger siblings, she somehow convinced me to set those dreams aside. Chances of that happening now are slim to none, however it remains one of my life goals to learn how to fly and experience this feeling inside the cockpit.

As i was perusing in santa monica, looking for a good spot to have lunch, i stumbled upon this private airpot flight training. I stopped by, chatted with the guys for at least 30 minutes, picking their brains. And there’s no way I wasn’t gonna have a photoshoot there, lol.

  3. Stand Out In Camo

Enjoying a great morning while working from Cognoscenti Coffee. I’m wearing a pair of camo slacks with a basic white shirt and navy blazer. In this instance, navy and white work well as neutral colors as they allow the camo to steal the show. A very simple look, but bold enough to make you stand out. The gingham pocket square adds a nice pop to the whole ensemble. Also the brown leather strap from the watch works perfectly against the navy and white for a beautiful contrast. Completed the look with a pair of blue suede cap toe magnanis. This is one of the many ways to dress camo up and rock it with confidence.

    Shop the look:

    Blazer by Theory

    Shirt by Jcrew

    Slacks by H&M

pocket square by Gallant & Beau

    Watch by Daniel Wellington

  4. How to wear lavender

For this post, i decided to combine a lavender shirt with a light blue tie, which pair well together for a classic and crisp look. Lavender may be intimidating to some because it may seem hard to work with, but nothing could be further than the truth. Au contraire, lavender works with almost every color, from navy to brown, and even green. Just make sure to add a neutral color like a charcoal grey sport coat for example ( as seen above) to keep the look subdued. I toughen the look up with a pair of navy trousers, my favorite color for basic, and kept it simple with my black Prada monks and the perfect pair of socks from my good friends at Gallantbeau.

I think every guy should own a lavender shirt, as it will bring new life to your wardrobe!

    Tie by Hugo Boss
    Sport coat by Paul Smith

  5. DTLA

DTLA is slowly emerging into the next “it” spot, and its moment has been brewing for a while. After some pretty dark days, the area has been making a slow and steady comeback over the past years, with the real renaissance happening in the last two years. From retail stores, restaurants to rental space, it’s pretty obvious that we’re witnessing a massive reinvention and I couldn’t be more excited. Since adopting LA as my new home in the past year or so, I’ve been looking to find a place that fit my lifestyle, and I think DTLA is that place.
So with all the excitement and transformation, I think now is the time for me to look for a chill and cozy spot at a decent price before the big shift. Which is why I headed down there to explore my options; and also took the opportunity to shoot for a new post!

    Here’s what I wore:

    Blazer by Topman

Shirt, tie bar and belt by jcrew

    Tie by Thetiebar

    Pants by Riverisland

    Socks by Gallantbeau
